Meet Polly, my 2-year-old parrot with bright green feathers, a colorful beak, and a voice that could rival a pop star. Polly\u2019s favorite hobby is singing\u2014she\u2019ll belt out tunes all day long, from nursery rhymes to pop songs I play on the radio. But there\u2019s one thing she loves even more than singing: stealing my snacks. This little bird is equal parts talented and mischievous, and she keeps me on my toes every single day.
Polly\u2019s singing sessions usually start in the morning. She\u2019ll sit on her perch, fluff up her feathers, and start singing \u201cTwinkle Twinkle Little Star\u201d or \u201cHappy Birthday\u201d\u2014she even knows all the words (well, the bird version of them). Sometimes she\u2019ll make up her own songs, chirping and squawking in a way that\u2019s surprisingly melodic. If I sing along with her, she\u2019ll get even more excited, bobbing her head and flapping her wings.
But Polly\u2019s true talent is stealing snacks. Every time I sit down to eat something\u2014whether it\u2019s a cookie, a piece of fruit, or a chip\u2014she\u2019ll fly over to my shoulder, nudge my cheek with her beak, and try to grab the snack out of my hand. She\u2019s surprisingly fast, and she\u2019s mastered the art of distraction: she\u2019ll sing a loud song to get my attention, then sneak a bite when I\u2019m not looking. If I catch her, she\u2019ll tilt her head, look at me with innocent eyes, and then chirp as if saying, \u201cOops, sorry\u2014not sorry.\u201d
Polly isn\u2019t just a pet\u2014she\u2019s a little entertainer. Her singing makes every day brighter, and her mischievous snack-stealing antics make me laugh even on my worst days. She\u2019s full of personality, and she loves to be the center of attention. Whether she\u2019s singing her heart out or stealing my snacks, Polly is the cutest, most entertaining bird I\u2019ve ever met.
