When the first snow of the year fell last weekend, I knew it would be a day to remember\u2014thanks to my 3-month-old golden retriever puppy, Sunny. Sunny had never seen snow before, and watching her experience it for the first time was like watching a little ray of sunshine discover magic. When I made a tiny snowball and gently tossed it to her, she pounced on it, chewed it, and then looked up at me as if asking for more. Her nose turned pink from the cold, and her paws were covered in snow, but she didn\u2019t care\u2014she was having the time of her life.
After about an hour, Sunny was tired. Her little body was shivering, but her tail was still wagging. I picked her up, wrapped her in a warm blanket, and carried her inside. She snuggled up in my lap, licked her cold paws, and fell asleep, her breathing soft and content. Watching Sunny experience her first snow day reminded me of the joy of seeing the world through new eyes\u2014simple, pure, and full of wonder.
